Can't you get a locksmith to make a key?

Even if I had a blank in hand, none of the ones I talked to were interested. I fully expected it could cost $50, still no interest. That's OK, they'll be replaced by the new key copying machines at Home Depot.

The chinese repro cylinders and keys are crap, but they work.

Denny, if you really want to see everything, yeah, it takes two days. I've done it a couple of times in one day but man I was beat. Also, take lots of water. One half there are vendors with bottled water but then the other half is a dessert and by the time you get that far you are really looking for water. I try to freeze a couple of bottles for use later in the day. It's a good swap meet. I like it better than the spring and fall Jeffersons, which are getting about as big as Iola but the Jefferson meets have more mid '70s Chevy and ghetto junk and professional vendors selling sandpaper and bling. There are usually a few treasures spread out if you really look. Iola seems to bring in the more centered old car guys, there's a lot more parts for '30s to '50s cars and not just Chevys and Fords. Still a lot of junk but more good stuff also.

If you head up this way try to stop by again and look at some of my rust.

FoMoCo did not furnish the ignition switch with the cylinder and key, both parts furnished separately.

I checked out a truck a while back that was advertised on CL. The ad specifically stated the truck was only good for parts, not drivable. I go out to this farm and an old guy comes out and takes me behind the barn and there's a '48-50 F-2 sitting in the weeds, buried up to it's axle. The guy tells me that he had a guy come out with a battery and started cussing him out when he saw the truck, he had hoped to pop a battery in the truck and drive it. The old guy was pretty cool and we talked a while. The only good part I could see was the ignition switch. I offered him $5 and he said I could have it, still had the key in it. It flipped into all position, don't know if it works, I haven't tested it but it's a spare if I need it.

Hey Denny,

I don't know if you remember me but I traded you a bunch of Magic Air heater parts for a very nice restored one. I have a good used switch with tumbler, key and bezel if you need one. I want to check it again tomorrow to make sure it is good, then it's yours if you want it. $200, WOW!

I am working on a 52 I am getting parts from in an old junknyard near me. It has the key in the ignition. I plan on going there Saturday. I can get it for you.

I will need a tip on how to get it out, however!
