Dorman Valve cover gasket question

Instead of a positive lock for the injector connector, the Dorman has a wire clamp that doesn't even snap on. When you close it, it just sort of lays there. I wondered if I'd installed something incorrectly but don't see any other way to do it. It could be that the valve cover is a close enough fit that it'd keep the wire doohickey from coming adrift but I'm not real comfortable with it. Can anyone shed some light?

I used the spring clips off of my old harnesses on the new dorman set. over 100,000 miles no problems. if you leave the loose clips on they will come un pluged

Swell. I just got everything buttoned up. My original didn't have spring clips but had 2 plastic side snaps

A few on mine would not snap (lock) so bending the wire tab a bit resolved the issue, iirc bend the wire snap outward slightly.

None of mine would snap/lock. Called Dorman and they said there should be a positive lock and I may need to do some bending to get that to happen. I wondered out loud why no instructions to that effect.... Anyhow, I took everything off again and customized the wire holders. To anyone running into the same problem, you can get a decent lock by removing the wire from the connector and bending each arm back towards the main body of wire.....a lot! I hand-held it and bent each end back with a pair of pliers. I was afraid of breakage but nothing broke.
Thanks, fellas, for responding.
