Looking for a diesel mechanic for my 6.0L 2005 Excursion in the Charlotte NC (my hometown) or general area (+/- 100 miles; upstate SC).

My X died on my this morning after about 10 minutes of driving and wouldn't restart. No warning. No (new) codes. From what I've read this forum, it may be the IPR and/or HPOP. I'm generally mechanically inclined and could probably tackle the IPR replacement but don't have the time right now, nor the tools to test the HPOP (let alone fix). I've previously had P0671 and P0672 codes (glow plugs), which I don't think is related to my no-start issue, but I'm not a 6.0 expert.

I'm also thinking about doing the bulletproof upgrades: studs, head gaskets, standpipes, dummy plugs, new oil cooler (I have 15+ degree delta ECT/EOT), new EGR, etc., so I need someone who knows there way around a 6.0L. I'm willing to trailer the truck to the right mechanic.

Of course, I may rethink tackling the IPR on my own once I see the bulletproof quote.
