Transmission temp wiring - P0713

I have been having an intermittent 0713, which I believe I have narrowed down to a chafed wire. I already replaced the sender, and when running, if I push this cable the temperature goes haywire - or when I am going over the glorious California roads...

Before I go through the hassle of striping all the wire bundling etc to solder on a new wire, can you verify that the attached picture is of a wire bundle that is likely to actually have the transmission temperature wire, or if there is a better option for doing this?

Also, what moron at ford thought this was a good idea??
