Intermittent Window 99 F-250
I have read and heard from others challenges with their power windows. My F-250 is once again proving to be a mystery when it comes to the passenger side window. With direct current to the motor it operates with ease. With a new OEM switch both on drivers side and passenger side the widow goes down with ease but I have to do several things to get it to go up. The motor seems fine, there are new switches on both DS/PS. Anyone else who had this challenge find the culprit. For instance yesterday I opened the DS door partway and had my wife engage the switch and the window went up. Baffling?

Nope, not a mystery.
You have a broken wire in the conduit between the door and the door jamb on the driver side. I repaired my 2000 a few months ago for the exact same problem. My passenger side window suddenly stopped working, then I noticed it would work every time if the drivers door was open, but never when it was shut.
Take the driver door panel off and remove the speaker, I worked the accordian conduit through the hole and into the door to gain access to the wires. I was able to repair the wires without completely taking everything apart. There were two larger 10 or 12 gauge wires in the bundle and both were broken. One just had the insulation broken but the other was completely broken with only a small piece of insulation keeping it together. I cut the wire off inside the door and closer to the jamb so I could splice in a new piece of wire. If you just fix the broken spot it probably won't last since the repair won't be very flexible as you open and close the door.
