washing with quick detailer spary
I don't drive my personal truck much since I have a company vehicle, so I hate leaving my truck sit dirty in the garage for close to a week at a time. I really don't want to do an actual water wash all the time because I did that on a previous truck and it started rusting quicker than it should've.
Lately I've been using Wizards Mist & Shine detailer spray and a really soft good quality micro fiber cloth to remove road dust and light grime whenever the truck gets dirty. Is there any harm to the paint if I use this stuff on a frequent basis? I use it only when the truck has a coating of really fine(baby powder like)dust or really light road grime form a few miles of wet roads. If there is visible grit on the paint then I will not use the quick detailer.

For light dust, this is what I and my family have used for close to 40+ years.....Dust cloth:
Las-Stik Manufacturing Co.
157 North “B” Street
Hamilton, OH 45013
513-868-0555
800-572-3488
It is a family owned company, the material they use is imported (or at least it use to be) from Europe. They have been around for 50+ years and make absolutely the best dust cloth ever made. About $5 each and they last a long time! Never wash just throw away or use as a wash cloth after washing once. In comparison from the dust brooms/brushes, they allow you to get into every crevice and they do not create swirl marks and actually visually reduce any existing swirl marks.
For those who are old enough, you might remember when the Standard Oil gas stations had "Dust Cloths" (up through the 60's).....these are them......and for those who weren't, prior to mid 60's, all paint was lacquer - if you even breathed on the paint you could get a swirl mark....these were originally made for those paints.
The way that I judge if the dust is not of carbon material or its too thick is to take my finger (clean & dry) and run it over the windshield.....if the dust comes off with no streaks and my finger ran smooth over the glass, it's ok to use a dust cloth...otherwise I get the hose and give it a quick rinse & wipe-down.
