In my experience with multiple GM and Ford trucks, the one constant has been the better interior quality of the Ford's. I have been through the GM intake gasket and Ford cam phaser issues. Neither brand is perfect, no matter what the die hard GM guys will tell you.
I traded a 2003 Ford Ranger Edge for my 2011 F-150 FX4 5.0L.
My 2011 is the first brand new vehicle I've ever owned. Before my 2003 Ranger I drove a 1990 F-150 XLT Lariat. That was my first ever, had many good years in my Ford's that's all I've ever owned and probably all I ever will.
I traded my 2006 fx4 flare for my 2012 fx4 max tow ecoboost, my first new car was a 1981 chevy c10 stepside super saver w/305 v8. In between was also 97 f-150 with a 4.6 and a 2001 GMC slt extended cab w/5.3 4wd, Have yet to own a Dodge pickup.
Current truck was replacement for 2003 Super Duty crew cab 4X4 diesel that I loaned my son for a couple of years. Still needing a truck myself, I bought F-150 to tide me over until Ford came out with a F-150 diesel. That never happened, so now I'm looking for something I really have to own. I'm still waiting…maybe 2016 F-150 with newer transmission, re-designed Super Duty, or ?
