Are you sure that is correct? The stampings were generally
letter(paint) one or two letters(plant) one or two numbers (day) letter(month) numbers(production # on line)
Are the stamped numbers in the center of the cowl, or right next to the tag? I suspect you are looking at a different number. Should look something like below

That stamp next to the VIN plate doesn't make any sense to me. But here is the decoder for your VIN.
The first character of the 48-50 vins is year 8 - 48; 9 - 49;50
The second and third characters indicate engine 8R for V8; 7H for sixes
The 4th character is model, for example: F1 model code is C; F2/3 code is D and later (around 110,000) split into D/Y respectively; F4 - F6 listed as T
Then, up to 6 digits complete the vin
