OT - Here We Go Again......

San Diego County is on fire again...... 9 separate locations currently. Arson is being mentioned. 100 degrees, high wind, low humidity and severe drought.

The last two times (2003 and 2007) I nearly lost my house. I think a fire just sprung up out Charlie's way a few hours ago..... A lot of homes already lost,

Stay safe Dawgie - If they tell you to evacuate PLEASE do it - Too many die either waiting too long or trying to save their house with a garden hose

It takes a special kind of an A#* to start a fire intentionally just to cause harm to others.
Stay safe and take care.

If I lived in a place like that there wouldn't be plant life withing 100 yards of my house. Seriously, I'd gravel the yard. If my neighbors had plants, I'd herbicide them at night.

Stay safe. Fire is nothing to mess around with. Like Dick said, if they say leave, leave.

I am afraid that fire season this year will be a long one. We live in the trees here in Prescott and are in definite need of rain. I am sure that the wild fires will start soon started by some stupid campers or other careless dip ****s.

Stay safe Dawg
So far our wildfires have been pretty small and in relatively unpopulated areas but the season is just beginning. Its going to be another hot dry year.
So far our fires have been man made. Not necessarily arson, but man made. There's too many idiots running around this world

As far as the arson goes, seems like every single year here in Calif., some of the first fires of the season are proven to be a firefighter that wants to go back to work, it's sad, most of them are hard working people putting there lives on the line . Stay prepared and safe, its going to be a long fire season.

It is similar here, lots of people who live in the mountain villages earn a year's worth of money fighting fires and supplying crews. Before the drought, it wasn't such a big deal, now it's more than an annoyance.

Hope all is ok for you down there. Talked to a customer in San Diego and he said the air it is getting a little better. Also saw on the news this AM that they arrested a 19 and 17 year old they saw running after setting fires, they were unable to catch them at first...but eventually got em. Stay safe!

Where they were caught setting was not in the big fire areas but it was a really bad place to start one. Not to say they didn't start others. I don't know the number of homes lost so far but one body has been found. So Murder may be on the table for an Arsonist.

Weather is still in the low 100s but the wind has died down. Temps are going down to normal in the next few days. The Animal Shelter where I work is the only one not evacuated in the northern county. So it's been some long days for me with crated animals filling the hallways and offices that are air conditioned.
