Looking for a Parts Website

I heard of a website a few years ago where you post what you want parts wise. I wasn't in the market for anything major at the time so I didn't investigate it. The guy I heard about it from was looking to regear his Trail Blazer. He posted there looking for lower geared front and rear ends and a guy not to far away had exactly what he needed. I know the WTB section here is similar but this was an entire site devoted to it.

I want to do a similar thing with my '99 SD. It has the V-10 and gears are 3.73. Id like to get a front and rear with lower gears. I have heard to re gear im looking at 1500 to 2000 per axle. Buying some in decent shape already done seems a more cost effective route.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I haven't heard of such a site. If you figure out what it is, please post back and let us all know. I'd DEFINITELY want to know too.

Btw, in my neck of the woods, $2000 is about what it costs to have both front and rear diff's gears swapped and that price includes parts and labor.

Ya I would price it out use broncograveyard.com D50 master sets this is the ring and pinion and install kits for front and rear with the Dana 50 all in one package for under $1000. And labor shouldn't be much more than a grand. I just did mine with their kits.

Those prices arent too bad at all. Might be worth getting lockers at the same time. The Labor is whats scaring me.

Any recommendations on gear ratio's you all have used? I went to Stock tire size to help with fuel mileage. I normally drive the Interstate at 70mph and stay around 65mph on the highways. I can get 14mpg if I just take it easy and not get in a big hurry. I know I will loose some of that mileage. Just wondering what kind of experience some of you have had with 4.10, 4.30 or 4.56. I also have a V10.
Thanks.

A fairly safe way to figure labor is if you have $1600 in parts your going to pay at least that in labor. Have differentials rebuilt or gear changes is a the most expensive way to go, if you have to pay a shop to do it.
You will never save save any money on fuel or gas. $3000-$5000 buys a lot of both. For a few miles per gallon you better own it & drive it for 100,000s of miles to see a cost savings.

I am very happy with the mileage I have now. I am how ever willing to sacrifice 2 to 3 MPG to get better towing up the mountain.
