1956 F100 Windshield
A couple of years ago I found a very original 56 F100. It was a mid-west farm truck, carefully stored and well preserved. It currently has 31,000 miles and I am the third owner. The second owner knew the truck and detailed the engine compartment nicely back to stock. Aside from a repaint of the original Meadowmist Green about 35 years ago, everything else is original. All of the emblems and hardware are original. I took off the original wheels and original argent painted hubcaps and put them away. Same with the Ford scripted side mirrors. All of the glass is original except for the windshield. I would like to replace the windshield due to a recent stone chip. Any recommendations for the best windshield? Does Ford still supply them? Were windshields tinted back then?
Thanks,
John

Not cheap, but they have nice glass. I bought all of my glass for the 53 from these guys. You can choose the tint you want, or no tint at all.

I went to Safelite the other day. They gave me a price of $450 installed. Also talked to Classic Auto (mentioned above) they had a warehouse here in St Louis! You need to see if they have something close to you. I believe he gave me a price of $550 for every piece of glass PLUS shipping. Don't forget to get a new windshield rubber.
