Boyfriend just replaced the transmission on his 1990 F150 XLT Lariat he has every gear except drive. We had the same issue with the previous transmission but it was going out for sure. We got this transmission from a junk yard, it had good fluid no clutch debris , has a lot of markings on it as if its a recently rebuilt transmission. I've been trying to troubleshoot a little online since his knowledge of automatic transmissions is basic. I would appreciate any suggestions of things to try or check out...that don't require the removal of the transmission again lol.

 

Sounds like the MLPS. What year truck did the transmission come out of? I think there were wiring changes in the connector between certain years but I don't really know much more than that.
