Question Making clutch pedal easier to operate after knee injury

I have a 68 F100 with 3spd and 360 motor. After a recent knee injury, operating the clutch has become painful. I had a new clutch professionally installed about 2000 miles ago and everything seems to be working OK - just hard to operate.

Long spring underneath for throw out bearing is hooked around front of drivers side engine mount and I have what appears to be an original spring under the dash. Is there something I can do with the spring under dash to make clutch pedal easier to operate (and less painful on my knee)?

Thanks.

The "best" option to ease clutch operation is to go hydraulic.

The other is to re-engineer the linkage to increase its mechanical advantage (leverage).

A couple of dumb follow up questions: Is the hydraulic option big bucks? Can I use the existing clutch and just replace the linkages? Can I get a conversion kit?

Big bucks? That's a relative question.. but I recall a Wilwood system is around $300.

The conversion deletes the linkages and actuates the clutch fork with a "push" style external slave cylinder. The clutch (disc, plate, etc.) stays the same.

Call up Modern Driveline and speak to Paul Coffey. He can probably set you up with what you need or want: Hydraulic Clutch Kits, Mustang, Falcon, Hot Rods - Modern Driveline

.... or contact American Powertrain: http://americanpowertrain.com/c-6369...plete-kit.html
