2004 F150 ABS Issue
I have a 2004 2WD Ford 150 Lariat Crew Cab, 5.4 V8. When I step on the brakes, there is a thumping feeling in the brake pedal at low speeds. The ABS light does not come on. It feels like the ABS is kicking in. However, it does not do this every time I step on the brakes. The rotors and brake pads look fine and I have cleaned the sensors. Any suggestions? I feel like replacing the sensors to see if that does the job but that seems to be a waste of money if that doesn't work. Thanks in advance!

Mine did the same thing then one day it stopped...So did my ABS, now my ABS and E brake light are on...When I jam the brakes they lock up, no traction, no stability, now no ABS, I said good riddance. My truck is a lot more like me now a modern interpretation of old school. Ruff and ready whenever, on the bright side it stops much faster off road without ABS

ABS Problem
My F150XL 2008 had the same problem with the pulsating brake peddle at low speeds until the antilock light came on over a year ago. It was diagnosed as a problem in the left front, driver's side. Had the ABS sensor replaced, but the antilock brake light came back on? I decided to remove the left front tire, and low and behold the ABS Toner Sensor Ring was cracked and moving about freely on the Wheel Bearing Hub. I have been checking for several days for a replacement ABS Toner Sensor Ring, but there are none to be found for the 2008 F150. Ford has them for the 2009 F150 which does not fit the 2008 F150. The 2009 ABS ring is available from many sources, but I have found there are none for the 2008? I will bide my time until I can find one because I do not intend to buy a $250.00 complete Bearing Hub Assembly for an $8.00 part.
