Can I clear 38s with 3" lift? I think so..

I currently run 35s on my truck with a 3" lift. There seems to be lots of room to go bigger. Anyway I was wondering if the 3" suspension lift would clear 38s? (They're actually 385/70r16 toyo mts. ) the guy at les Schwab said the actual height is 37 & 3/4". Or am I going to have to move my bumper forward or cut it or something ? Also no worries in the rear. I have a flatbed that has lots of room.
I found this post below and the 7th and 8th guy down both say 38s and 37s can be cleared with no lift at all. But I dint think so. What do you guys think ? Can I run 38s on a 3" suspension lift?

My lift is blocked in the back. How do I know how much it's lifted? Do I measure the blocks both? Or which one is the lift block? One of them has a piece that sticks out sorta like covering the axle and it's 4". And the other is just a block that is 3" stacked on top of the other one. So I'm wondering if it's a 3" or 4" or combine them for 7" ?

The stock block is the one with the piece sticking out over the axle. The other must be the lift block. These only came with 1 block in stock form to my knowledge.

I have 285/75R16 tires on my stock suspension truck. I had to shim the bumper out to keep the tires from rubbing when the wheel was turned and had a little suspension compression. I think 38s with a 3" lift would fit but I bet the bumper would need shimmed out a little to keep from rubbing when the suspension is compressed.

EDIT: Does the truck sit level? You actually might have more of a lift in the front if it sits level. With 3" in the rear, the front would have about 5-6" of lift to sit level. If that's the case 38s should fit easy.

385/75R16=37.2x15.2R16

i would say with a trim of the front bumper, or shim out the front bumper they should work, but may rub on full lock turns

Yeah It sits level. I have confidence that it'll work. Well see tho. Tomorrow I'm gettin em put on. It looks pretty easy to shim the bumper. I'd say what , take it off. Go to the hardware store and get longer ones with a few washers and space it out ?

you can do it that way. most people take a sawzall, cut off wheel, or torch and cut an inch or two off the tire side of the bumper.
i just removed the bumper on my 88 and made a new one out of 8 inch "C" channel.

They fit !!!
I think the front must be lifted more. I'll need to move the bumper up a little bit. But it'll be ok.
How do I post pics on here ??

easiest way is to post them to photobucket: Photo and image hosting, free photo galleries, photo editing , then copy and paste the image link here.
