GlowShift 3 in 1 gauge question

I posted this on the Super Duty board without any hits so I figure it might be more specific to the diesel crowd.
For those of you that have installed GlowShift's gauges, they don't recommend tying the 'Orange' dimmer wire into the dimmer wheel circuit. This note is directly from GlowShift's instruction sheet.
NOTE: Do not connect the orange wire to a dimmer wheel. This will cause the gauge lighting to flicker.
I'd like to know the location of the headlight wire that I need to tap into so the gauge will dim by design by 30% when the headlights activate either manually or automatically. Thanks in advance. Mike

Its not diesel specific. Must be a glowshift thing, as that is where my isspro gauges are wired in and they do just fine, and dim with the factory dimmer switch.

Perhaps the Glowshift cannot accept a potentiality, and has two settings, high and low.
So in that case, you wan the brown running light wire from the headlight unit. There are other locations for this wire, but I assume that is the area you are poking around.

Exactly...thanks for the response Trey. The reason it's here in the diesel section is because it's a Boost gauge first and foremost, then EGT and then trans temp.

Jimmy, Quick questions for ya. Did you have to pull the dashboard down or just pull the headlight bezel out? If the bezel, HTF didya get the switch out and away? Mine seems pretty well secured behind the bezel.

I had my dash panel out because I installed the gauge in the steering pod. It would be very tight to do soldering without removing the dash panel, but I don't think it's impossible.

Very cool. I'll take the dash down and go at it. It's no biggy 'cause I had it down when drilled the 1/2" hole for my ScanGauge harness and velcro'd it above the dash vent. It came out good too. Thanks for the help! Mike

No worries man, good luck! It only adds a few minutes to the job by pulling the gauge surround.
