Disable PATS for TS 6-Position Chip

I'm thinking I want the Phoenix chip but it disables the PATS, don't really care about the PATS if it only eliminates the "chipped" key. I only have one key for my Ex and don't want to pay $75 for a new one.

Will the "alarm" horns still work if door is opened with doors locked or is the whole system down?
Will keypad still unlock the doors?
Will remotes still unlock doors?

from KT Performance website
"If you are installing the chip in an Excursion with PATS factory anti theft system, this chip will disable the PATS system.
-To eliminate the "THEFT" light, you must disconnect the red connector from the PATS module.
-The PATS module is located below the dash directly above the transmission hump in the floor.
-With the PATS disabled, any key that turns the injection will start the engine. In other words, a non-chip key will start the vehicle."

Thanks
Josh

I am wondering why you want to pull the chip and replace it when you can get a SCT tuner and flash the stock PCM/ECM.

Yes, with the 6-position switch and the ones with the digital button switch which have 17 different tunes, and all you have to do is turn the dial or push the button to change between tunes at anytime.

I didn't catch it being on the phone app, have you tried posting in the 7.3 section? It might point you in a better direction

I wouldn't buy anything that disables the pats, you are just getting deeper into undependable territory.

To my knowledge,
There is no alarm that triggers, other than the panic button on the remote.

The pats verifies the correct key is used, thus preventing a hot wired theft. It does NOT cause an "alarm" to go off.

6.0's get reflashed because you can't use a switch on the fly chip with multiple tunes on it.

Most 7.3L owners opt for a chip with multiple tunes so they can switch from a daily tune to a tow tune to a whatever tune, with just a push of a button or twist of a dial.

The 7.3L F series trucks don't have PATS and all those functions work when custom tuned.
