Chips and "EPA"

This has got to be hogwash.....

A friend just left for lunch to have his Duramax chipped. he went on about how they had a hard time finding one, because they are cracking down on chip manufacturers for environmental reasons.

I've never heard that to be true.

And yet we keep voting for these people who put unelected officials and agencies in place with little to no accountability, making decisions based off of junk science and consensus. These people really only care to take control of every aspect of our lives for their own personal wealth and glorification... Getting off soapbox...

Edge was fined half a million and H&S was fined 96 million for violations of the Clean Air Act. Maybe the others are getting nervous . . .

I think it's more for the tuners that allow emissions to be deleted. Those tuners are almost impossible to find. Since then they've come out with "street" tuners, which allow you bump up the power, but you can't delete egr, dpf, etc...

Interesting, so based on that link it sounds like it's for newer model stuff, and those of us with our trusty 7.3's will still be able to do what we do now.

The interface they use is going away in a few model cycles, so we'll have no way to hook anything up.

as far as I can tell from the article its for two models down the road. Average product cycle is what, like 5-6 years each so is a decade away. Old stuff wont be affected......yet.

It's kind of like in the 70's and 80's when all the emission stuff started coming out, all the "oldies" were grandfathered in and many still around today. Not long before we can slap an antique tag on our 7.3's ya know.
