I want to swap a diesel in a bronco 2. I have read about people doing this. Most I have seen is using the Cummins 4 bt. Any one know what type of mgp I should expect? I want just a little hunting 4x4 truck with a manual.

 

Not a fan of swaps like this. However, this looks pretty good and complete and fairly recent. I only went through 1 or 2 pages but lots of good info on trans, starter etc:

4bt into 99 ranger

IIRC a '99 Ranger has a little more room to work with, so keep your gas ax at the ready.

 

The 4bt is a great engine, like most Cummins. It it LOUD AND ROUGH though so be ready for that.

I've been reading up on them because I'm going to be swapping one into my 77 F250 when the 351M finally craps out. You'll need to upgrade the trans as well and probably do a ton of driveline modification.

 

Serving suggestion: Make sure you get one with the balance shaft...
4 cylinder motors vibrate up and down at 1/2 crank speed. This is pretty controllable in small motors, in big motors it's a paint shaker.
