transmission question

Ok my truck only does this off and on its a 1994 f150 4x4 with the inline 6 .....it seems to wanna shift hard like they do when the fuse for the radio and speed sensor goes out but the fuse is fine and im just wondering if the shift sensor could be getting weak

Try wiggling the connector for the MLPS, on the driver's side of the transmission. If that makes it work better, next step might be trying to clean the contacts, or a new MLPS.

Newer ones (95-up) have a better design for the plug. I think there is a harness to retrofit the newer MLPS and plug to the older trucks.

Your transmission is computer controlled. Any malfunctioning sensor can trigger the transmission into limp mode, with or without a Check Engine Light. Check for codes.
