Help with TS part on new truck?

We just bought a new to us 02 f250 7.3, there was a card in the glove box that says TS performance. It says default code vdh4 and then 1-stock 2-hi idle 3-50 4-75 5-100 6-140

What is this?

Is there rotary **** on the dash somewhere that you don't know what it is for? If so, then you have a TS performance chip installed.

There is a turn dial at the fuse box. Is that it? There are no extra gauges or anything. It's a black **** with white line? If so what does this do and mean?

yup that's the dial for the chip the defualt code is the pcm code for the truck or what pcm you have. So all the way to the left is stock all the way to the right is 140hp added, usually to much for stock sticks(injectors) so it rolls coal. High idle is good if your in cold climate as it will warm up faster

I used 75 when I had the ts but I have a stick the chip will change shift points so find what you like. Look into getting egt gauge, black smoke means you sending more fuel than you can burn so egts will go up. Getting boost leaks sealed up will go along way as well for running any chip. More power means more stress on tranny to so keep that in mind. Just stick around here and you get more info than you can handle.

Generally the daily driving tunes are 65-80 hp tunes. I'd give both 3 and 4 a shot and see which you like better. Until you have at least a pyrometer installed, I'd avoid running it in the last two tunes.

If I were you, I would consider having the chip sent off to a tuner of choice for an update. Since you don't know how long it's been since they were written, we have assume they are older, earlier tunes. A lot has changed in the tuning world in the past couple years.

Looks like it was done in 2013. Are these tuners bad for the engine or hard in it or transmission?

Are the 3 and 4 levels better on gas mileage than stock?

Fuel mileage is largely dependent on driving style. You can observe an increase from stock if you drive conservatively. Most like the extra power, and drive more aggressively, which could show a reduction.

Are the bad or hard on engine and trans? If monitored properly, no. This is why everyone who really gets into tuning spends the money on gauges to monitor everything.
