Question about Rocker Arms

I didn't notice it when I pulled everything out but one of my rocker arm assemblies is different than all the others. The different one has plastic guide clips and all my other one have metal clips. And I was about the put it in and I noticed the plastic clip had sorta got messed up. Anyone know what's up with this? Has anyone seen this kind of rocker arm on the left?

Unfortunately the rocker arms with the metal pivot for the early '03/'04 trucks are obsolete, so you likely needed one at some point, and ended up with a later model year version, which is what they supercede to.

Bummer.. The metal ones are a lot more solid.
Also, this should probly be another thread but, I can't get those two sets of rockers to sit all the way down on the rocker carrier. It's like the push rods are sticking up too much. Do I need to turn the crankshaft to get the rockers to seat?

Should I pull the head back off and pull the lifters and check? I haven't torqued the heads down just got them both on today and everything finger tight and I noticed those two sets if rockers wouldn't seat all the way. Would turning the crankshaft do anything?

Yea you can turn the crank. Should help. Get the heads torqued and turn the crank a few revolutions to make sure all your valves open and close without binding.

Yes use one of the bolts on the balancer to turn it by hand. Its pretty easy to do with the glowplugs out
