6.4 Filter Minder

I feel like every time I open my hood my filter minder is set to the "replace filter" and I have to reset it. Recently cleaned my filter. Noticed I have the old part number (already put it back on truck) and saw a few threads on the web referencing a new part number (8C3Z9N622A). Does this minder do anything other than visually tell you that your filter needs replacing or will it effect performance. 2008 6.4 - Early model as it seems they changed to a new filter minder according to the Google. I am tuned and deleted running an S&B intake.

Thanks.

your problem has to do with the S and B...not fords part.

When it gets "bad" enough you'll get a light on the dash. For whatever reason when I run a Wix filter it trips the light in a few thousand miles, can reset and it trips almost immediately. Is also an early '08.

Any particular reason? Hadn't seen anyone else with that issue.

Filter is not moving enough air for the system. If you have the stock airbox and filter then put it back on and see.

My filter minder was tripping easily as well. Tested it with a Mityvac and it only needed 5 in Hg vacuum. Too sensitive. Just unhooked and plugged hole. Been meaning to put a mechanical type that registers restriction.
