I don't have a head liner either so don't know how that will fit over the upper shoulder strap plate. Knowing how some head lines go in (I have removed a few headliners from other vehicles) I don't foresee any problems.

I used Juliano's for mine. I wanted new ones just in case. They come with good hardware to mount, but I had to make my own upper mount to weld to the window frame and door jamb frame. I used 1/8" steel plate and doubled it where it mounts. I bolted the bottom through the channel behind the seats and put one of the Juliano's rectangular plates below that have compound curved corners. They are of course supplied with grade 8 bolts. Not the greatest pictures though...

das54, what year range explorer? If you were to move the retractor down closer to the crossmember would you still have enough length?
One more question, what size nut did it require for you to weld in? Is a standard size bolt used across several vehicles? The star pattern looks similar in size to what I have seen in both of my 150's and ranger.

I forget what size nut that is. I used the OEM bolts.
