The diagram below shows how the PIP is wired in your truck:

We noticed that the volt gauge was completely dead and didn't move at all even with all utilities shut off. A friend if a friend said he thinks it's my ignition it potentially the ground from the motor to frame. I need this insanity to please please please end. I love my truck but it's been failing me as of late. Please help me fellow Ford men.....

one this that I read from the op was that the volt meter was pegged at "dead" during all events...not sure if this will help but worth a shot since I read that and it was stated...but have we even checked the alternator at all? is it putting out a charge, the volt meter should be registering at least something possibly fluctuating as voltage varies (mine does) so I would like to suggest checking the alternator and see if its putting out at least (IIRC) 14.4 volts which I remember seeing as what was being put out on my 95 F150. im going to assume that it is at least outputing something as the truck seems to run but still worth a check as you know what they say about assumeing...

New dizzy and it failed

I replaced the dizzy and it ran good for one day. It died twice on me this morning so I tested the coil like you suggested by pulling the cable from the coil off of the dizzy and holding it an inch from the block and got a really strong spark. So I guess we're down to a fuel problem. I've replaced the fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, egr valve and I don't know what all is left. What in the fuel system would be heat sensitive? Also on a side note for some reason pumping the gas pedal helped start it. ... is it the fuel pump?

Hey there, new to the forum here, but I had similar issues on my 2000 F150...wouldn't start when hot, would die on me, especially putting in reverse when I first started it, sometimes wouldn't start, other times would run great. It especially would not like to start if was just running and needed to sit for like 30-40 min before I could restart. Also, pumping gas pedal helped me keep it running...Tried cleaning my IAC valve, but didn't really help much, so ordered a new one and replaced it. Ran a little rough at first, maybe computer was relearning, not sure, but by the next day ran great and still does, been running for over 8 months now no problems. Saw new Ile Air Control valves online for like 28 bucks for your year. Just FYI

Yes it sounds like you have a fuel pump problem. They do heat up and quit.

Is pulling the bed off the best way to replace fuel pump?
