Hello from the "other" side of the Americas
Good evening to everybody!
My name is Matias, Im from Uruguay (South America), architect, 31 years old, and the proud owner of a 96 Ford Ranger XLT.
There has been many many Fords in my family, from a 1920 model T which was from my great-grand father, to 1950-ish F1, F3, 62 F100, 63 Mercury Comet, 65 Galaxie 500 coupe, 69 F100 and some others too!
Ive got this Ranger from the 1st. owner, with only 45.000 miles in January 2012.
Im also member from any Rangers foeum websites (fordrangerforum.com, therangerstation.com, forumranger.net and some others too), but I found this forum quite different and interesting!
Nothing else to say, just hello to everybody arround here!!!
Here are some pics of my little 96 Ranger, hope you like it:
American Ford parts are very difficult to get here (here we own japaneese, european and brazilian crap!) but Ive managed to do quite a few mods to my truck, everything with oem parts from the usa:
- oem power windows and mirrors (locks remaining, comming soon)
- oem cruise control
- autodim rear view mirror
- nothing else but regular manteinance
Now Im in the process of adding the original A/C (yes... this Ranger came with no AC); tons of parts but easyer than what you would think. Ill be posting the complete how-to soon!!!

Thanks man.
This is an american Ranger, assembled in Twin Cities Plant on Febraury 28th. 1996.
In 1998 the Ranger was produced in Argentina and Brazil (those crew cabs you like and I hate so much). Offcourse, Argentinian and Brazilian Fords has absolutely nothing to do compared with american ones, but they are very similar from the outside.
USA Rangers are very rare here
