Guys, we want to tell you how grateful we are that you’ve made us feel so welcome. We’re blown away by the questions you’re asking. In fact, some of us have even wondered if you are engineers! To be frank, we’re all sitting around in a room here at the Ford Product Development Center in Dearborn, MI working on these answers, and it involves a lot of discussion and looking things up. We’ll try to get to every question, although for some of you guys with multiple questions we may answer only part of it so we can try to get to others. But we’ll do our best. Thank you for answering my question, and please make changes to the radiator as it seems to be a problematic area. I have a 2015 F350 King Ranch coming in shortly, and I should have a reliable vehicle for the price I am paying.

Since changes are not being made to the radiator, Ford should up the warranty coverage on them to give the customer a warm and fuzzy. 70K is a lot to spend on a vehicle, and I already had issues with my 2011 F250. I am once again giving Ford a chance, and putting my faith in your product and I hope you are not letting me down.

Thanks again for the answer, now, lets make a solution.

This seems to be inconsistent with the recurring theme quoted below about listening to the customer's needs!

I didn't think they made records anymore, but I sure hear a broken record with the "We constantly listen....." deal. You must not be listening to the same customers that I hear with this complaint. A very large percentage of short bed owners have a desire for a larger fuel tank. So much so that many spend well over $1,000 to cure the problem with an aftermarket tank. It sure seems like it would at least be a viable option to offer.

The radiator is almost a deal breaker and it is not the only known consistent flaw for which warranty coverage is usually denied. The customer's choices at this point are to either put aside $100 per month to cover these inevitable costs or move on from their loyalty and take your business to other brands that don't "constantly listen to the customers".

The point of this post is not to be snide or ignorant, but rather to point out the obvious problems with the way this thread is being handled. This dialog is contained on a forum dedicated to Ford Truck Enthusiasts. We are not the average Joe that is on the fence about whether we want a Superduty or one of the other brands. We are Ford loyalists. We know these trucks inside in out, good and bad. We are educated consumers that have spent countless hours researching the trucks that we love. We know as well as Ford does how these trucks perform in Canada, Alaska, Montana, Maine, Texas, California, Florida, etc. We know all of the issues that these trucks have both major and minor. If it seems like people here are less than receptive to some of the answers they are receiving, it is because most of the answers are far beneath their expectations. Some of the questions being asked about known flawed components are very important to the users here.

As the previous owner of a 2006 6.0 powered truck that was less than reliable, the current owner of a 2011 6.7 that has to date been very reliable and hopefully the future owner of a 2016-2017 6.7, you can bet that I am very carefully watching the progress of these trucks. Remember, we are the heart and spine of the success of your product. We vote with our money and on average I have to say you get a lot of it every time one of us leaves the lot with one of these beauties.

I do wish to thank you for your time and effort in this thread. I don't expect any change, but I wish you could be more candid with us.

But the whole thing smacks of a marketing speel. We were kind of hoping for more off the cuff comments from humans. This feels way dressed up, with few if any specifics, and terminology you would find in a brochure.

I have a 2014 6.2l Platinum F250... Great job and happy with it overall, but small things mar the execution..."tail gate assist"? This should mean torsion bar in the 100lb gate not a step and garb bar...

this latest round of answers showcased exactly what I was talking about. We are being provided answers from a prepared statement. Not actually discussing anything with the Ford Design Team for the 2015 Superduty.

Pretty major blunder IMO.

somewhat. it was probably meant to be as described...but when you back people into a corner with logic and hard questions...especially by Ford Truck Enthusiasts (hmmm...FTE...

)...well it's easy to fall back on the party line. I'm fairly certain the concept of this thread was a simple PR campaign that would result in stupid, easy, maneagable questions that some intern could use their "GoogleFu" to answer.

A more honest approach to this should have been taken. A simple "I am not at liberty to discuss that issue at this moment" would have been appropriate. Not a not so subtle attempt to spin propoganda and toe the Ford party line.

I'm foreseeing this thread getting locked/deleted. I can't see Ford "allowing" something like this to go negatively. Especially as it's very likely they are paying IB for the promotional spot.

I'm still irked that supposedly these questions are being answered by the actual design team. To date, nothing answered has been a ground breaking revelation

well, I guess the info that the "Design Team" doesn't feel the transmission shift issues are/were an issue

or

The "Design Team" didn't feel the need to correct the radiator problem. Which I find extremely odd...because hasn't that been a problem since 2011? And I recall quite a few similar problems with the 6.4 trucks...or maybe I'm just getting old

The non-warrantied, leaking radiators has been a known issue of significant quantity since 2008. Some guys on this forum have replaced more than one. It is unacceptable when the replacement part fails at the same rate as the original which one could right off as just being one of those things that happens from time to time.

Luckily, I haven't experienced that failure yet, but I know the day is coming. The truck has always lost coolant very slowly since it was nearly new. I'm not seeing any wet spots, but I have certainly added a few quarts over the last 3.5 years. A $1,200 radiator should not be considered a normal wear part like brakes, light bulbs, etc.

Extremely well stated Matt. I don't have any skin in this game as I own an older SD. However, as I carefully read both the questions raised by the FTE community, and then read the responses provided by the 2015 SD Team, I observe a marked difference in the quality, candor and depth of the questions and the responses. Note I call them responses not answers ... because in many cases no concrete or direct information is provided.

With no intent to be disrespectful, it is obvious the responses fall into the category of "toeing the corporate line", "sitting on the safe fence" and "spin doctoring". Sorry 2015 SD Team ... that may not be your intent ... but it is how your performance is coming off to this audience.

I think Matt hit the nail on the head when he says this community's expectations were raised ... and then not met.
