When you come back to answer more questions. Could you please verify or disprove this statement?

"Couple guys on the Army got ahold of the '15 charger. It isn't looking too promising. Everything is nearly the same except the compressor wheel. Turbine side is tiny compared to all the hype before they launched them."

It came out of the "why should I buy a 15" thread from the 6.7 section.

I really hope that is not true.

F-450 Rear GAWR

What is the actual 2015 F-450 Rear Gross Axle Weight Rating (RGAWR)?

The online specifications lists it at 9100 pounds which is less than the F-350 DRW. Is this correct or a misprint?

Also, please see other excerpts from the 2015 Source book from earlier questions in this thread. You (Ford) stated that the 2015 F-450 pickup is to receive a Dana S130 axle, and the source book states the axle will be an S111.

There is a "ton" of difference in GAWR between an S130 (up to 16K) versus an S111 (up to 14K).

I realize that Ford may further limit the GAWR based on other factors, like the rear leaf springs used on the wide frames, but because of the discrepencies between your statements and the printed Ford resources, and because of the rear axle rating in the F450 pickup being lower than or the same as the F350 pickup, can you guys please clear it up for us?

This question was bypassed in the last Q&A session.

Super Singles???

Some of the trucking companies are switching to "Super Singles" on their class 8 tractors to improve mileage. How about offering this as a factory option on the F-350 and/or F-450 to improve both mileage and weight capacity?

Most of the guys here have had some really good technical questions.
I have some styling questions;

Instead of that soon to be rattle prone tailgate step, why not give us a rear bumper that is notched on the corners for foot-holds similar to what GM did with the Avalanche?



While you're paying attention to the rear of the truck, it's not hard to notice that the tail lights on the 2015 are almost exactly the same as the taillights on my 99 Superduty. Whats up with that?

Finally, the dually rear fenders... No mincing of words here... What you have put on these newer trucks looks like after-thoughts purchased from a farm implement dealer.. Please go back to the bolt-on aerodynamic flairs. The bed is too high to put anything over the sides anyway - we gave up on that years ago...

And as the other guys have said - Thank you for your interaction here with us.

BTW - I am pulling the trigger on a 2015 SD 4x4 CC DRW PSD today if my dealer's pencil works the right magic..

hope u didn't pay msrp for it my platinum listed for $62k but I paid MUCH less than that ...

IMHO, that's a solution that's not a solution... the indention is too far "inboard' to allow most over 30 year old the ability to pivot and lean forward to pull up with that design -- Had purchased a bed side step for entry right in front of the rear tire and it was useless - something like these might be better: Amazon.com: ford superduty bed step


While you're paying attention to the rear of the truck, it's not hard to notice that the tail lights on the 2015 are almost exactly the same as the taillights on my 99 Superduty. Whats up with that?
IMHO (again) maybe something that works doesn't need to change ?
or you could make it like the hideous toyota tundra rear lights

I dunno about that step situation... Maybe I'm in better shape than I think I am, but I'm 61 and can still hook that step on the avalanche and climb up into the bed of the truck. Admittedly, it's a bit more of a challenge finding the recess with your toe when coming back down, but one look at the pull out step on the tailgate tells me there are going to be a few broken legs.. Hence I ordered my truck without it and I will come up with something else..

Okay Ford Engineers - it's up to you guys to build a truck that suits EVERYBODY!

I'm 41 and folding...er holding... And I like the tailgate step. And now with gout affecting me knees, I even find myself using the stripper pole to get back down. Knock-outs in the corner bumpers wouldn't bother me though. With the tailgate up the license plate identation also works well.

And you can get the truck without the tailgate step. I also don't hear mine rattling even after 4 years. Maybe it is because I don't use my truck as a work truck. (although I do use it as a truck, since it is just me, I take my time and don't abuse it - because it is a truck I paid $50k+ for)

Same thing with the lights... Why fix what isn't broken?

Would love to hear the engineers take on these things though.
