Vermont May BS thread - where fresh BS is in bloom
#786
Good morning Vermont truckers and woodchucks. Raining now but supposed to clear off. Had a tornado warning at 4AM - I call BS - but supposedly they saw one on radar. Off to an all day meeting in Randolph so have a good day.

OK, time for the reveal. I like the courtesy lights that come on the King Ranch and discovered that the connectors for the courtesy lights are included on the Lariat as well. The plugs are on the side of the frame rail at the rear edge of the rear door on my crew cab.
I purchased this Amazon.com : AspenTek 12v 16.4 Ft 600 Leds 3528 Flexible LED Strip Coated in Clear Waterproof Sleeve Ip67, Cool White(6000k)ideal for Bedroom, Bathroom, dinning Room, Stairs, corridor, kitchen, garden, hotels, Restaurant, Ktv, Bar and O from Amazon
and this IMC Audio 72 5600 Speaker Connector Harness for Ford Vehicles Adaptors Metra | eBay from eBay.
The LED strip has 3M sticky tape on the back so I bought a can of this to clean under the door sill so I'd get a good adhesion.
I soldered the speaker plugs to the LED light pigtails and cut the LED strip in half. I got back under the truck and pulled this plug out of the connector and replaced it with the now soldered speaker plug.
When installed, the LED strip looks like this
The end result is this and this
I'm pleased with the result. Took about 5 hours front to back and cost just over $30.00. Now I can see the dog poop I'm about to step in.
