want no electronics

which year ford had the least electronics , what would be on a 1984 Ford van Centurion, ? with 6.9 ? at present dealing with an instrument cluster issue and so wish i was driving a pre as possible electronic vehical , maybe even a manual tranny , how did the electronics evolve , can one remove and replace with analog ?? thanks

That thing has pretty much no electronics. The trans is hydraulically controlled, the dash has electrical components but the speedometer is mechanical, and there is no computer anywhere in there.

If an 84 diesel ford van has too many electronics for you to cypher you're pretty much limited to transportation best classified as "beasts of burden" to get any more electrically primitive

thanks u all, I'm currently driving a 94 dually 7.3 , can't stand the electronic issues, always at the mercy of a circuit so considering buying a 1984 ford van centurion with a 6.9, so hope the tranny has next to no and aviod that instrument cluster , on my second one and o/d issues , the switch just got replaced , ..think can pick up the centurion for litttle money , make it my next beast of burden thanks Krockus and ford 6
