Am i having CPS issues again?? Help

About 3-4000 miles ago i had the same symptons as i did this morning. Truck started good drove good for an 1/8 mile or so then it would start cutting out/miss. Mostly when i took off from a stop or let off the gas but it would do it other times as well. When i would cut out i would hurry up and push the clutch in to prevent it from stalling. It turned out a new grey CPS fixed the problem last time. Same exact story this morning. I can even shut the truck down and it start right up but when i take off it will cut out/miss again. I had NO SES light either time. The weather here has been wet the last couple days but i drove in pouring rain yesterday for 50 miles with no issue. There was no rain this morning just cloudy and damp. I mention this because i have heard there is a ground with the wiper motor somewhere? Can anyone elaborate on this? So my guess is CPS but why in just 3-4000 miles? Could it be something else? Thanks!

Is the weather seal still on your CPS connector? Is it in decent shape? Are the contacts clean?

I would try some contact cleaner and Dielectric grease to be sure. It doesn't take much to make a bad contact. Its in a real bad area for oil, water, etc...

Ok update. So i put a different CPS in it that was a known good one and i does the same thing but now it stumbles on start up but catches itself and will idle and then cut out stumble and then idle normally. I also tried to unplug the ICP (even though its fairly new) but still did the same thing. Again all this is happening without a SES other than when i unplugged the ICP. I checked the IPR and the nut it still tight but i noticed that where the plug plugs in the black part can move almost 1/4 inch from left to right, is this normal? Any other ideas? Im going to get a guy with a scanner to come down and check it out hopefully tomorrow.

Well I only got to check the codes with a generic scanner and got 3 codes but only one meaningful one which was a p1280 which I don't understand. Still going to try to get a good scanner to scan it tonight. Te truck will hardly even start. It kinda sounds like it did when I had UVCH issues but there both brand new

Yes problem was the 42 pin wiring harness that runs over the drivers side valve cover rubs and makes contact with the valve cover. I took it and taped everything up and no problems ever sense

the most rewarding part of helping people is when they post what fixed it so others may make use of this info....
