Ah, got it. The camper package comes with the same fronts as the plow package although Ford will allow you to order both and waste $85. Twice for some people. Ask me how I know...

Yup, mine has the plow and camper package. I didn't order it that way. I bought it off the lot.

What it does do is allow for warranty If you plow.

Doesn't that kill you? I ordered my truck with the camper package and the dual alts. So the plow pkg offered NOTHING, but it helps with warranty when I plow. Wouldn't you think Ford would cover me if I had just the dual alts and camper package? I already have more than if I ordered the plow package but noooo.... I did order the plow pkg anyway as I didn't realize at the time that I was getting nothing for my money. Funny part is, on Ford's build and price, you can't, and never have been able to, add both the plow and camper packages to the same build.

Karl,

I think we talked about this before - but I have camper and HD Alt. So I can plow but not under warranty...

Never thought until lately that would be an issue. Now I may be moving to the land of snow...

Probably a non issue and if I knew then what I know now I wouldn't order the plow pkg even though I plow. I'm sure you'll be fine too...

Not worried either. And I would only be plowing my driveway not the whole block...

Thanks Gerry! We’re trying to spend as much time with our Dogo as possible, was Stage V with Lymphoma last June & given 2 to 4 weeks. He’s a trooper and still with us after a couple rounds of Chemo & looking forward to as many outings as possible while he’s feeling well.

Hey Chris, the side setup is very useful! I thought about getting the rear kit, but saw what a hassle they were after watching folks have to break down at night to close the rear door. We just leave ours out and lock the slider.

BTW, nice rig! I talked to a gent last summer that had the same 5ver with the outdoor kitchen setup.

Quick question. Your truck does not appear to have rear sag at all even with that big fifth. Does it have airbags?
The photo I posted was on our first outing and the 5ver did settle into the overload spring, but just barely, just as Shawn had noted. I did add a Firestone Ride-Rite setup with compressor & Dual Air Control to level things up after that trip. It did not really need it, but the ride is really smooth with the bags.

Spec wise, the pins a tad heavy @ 3,460 as the Gen & Bat’s are up front. Add fuel, hitch, wife, dog & I in the truck & technically we’d be over payload, but I roll with 110 gallons of Fresh & 60 Fuel as both tanks are aft of rear wheels. That plus the W/D and other gear in the garage puts about 2K at the back. Scale wise, things are where they should be, as last check had Steer @ 4,960, Drive @ 6,470 & Trailer @ 11,860.

Regards,
Mike

Very nice!! One of the 6 families we usually camp with just bought a new Wildcat bunkhouse 3 weeks ago. Had a great time with them last weekend and no issues at all found with the camper.

Man what was I thinking 20 years ago plowing snow with an old half ton Chevy w/ a 60 amp alternator, single battery and front springs that were probably weaker than a Taurus? It is laughable or maybe quite sad that the number one manufacturer of HD pickups would be so ridiculous as to deny warranty over the use of a snow plow without the magical snow plow package. I'm glad I don't have faith in any vehicle manufacturer's warranty or else I would never buy a vehicle. I can especially see how people rant against Ford for their warranty policies.

Mike - Are you sure on those weights? 3,460+11,860=15,320. That's only 500 lbs more than dry weight (14,813). Heck 110 gallons of fresh would put about 900 lbs alone.
