80-86 Dash Parts

I am restoring my 85 f-250 that has been passed down from my grandpa, to my dad, to me. I need some dash parts. The one I Cant find is the main part that the gauges and dash pad all mount to. it is one solid piece. not sure what to call it, but cant locate it in any parts book I have. help needed!

Are you looking for the part number or a source for a used one?

I recommend you find a junkyard complete dash for your year. there are online sites that search junkyards for you. Maybe you could find one within driving distance.

looked around my area, not much luck. another question I have is how hard would it be to switch the interior of an 87 over to the 85. I have a cab off an 87 that is near perfect.

Don't think going to the 87 will be easy. Not sure of that, so do some searching for that.

But, I may have an extra dash. I will need to look to make sure as I'm restoring my father' struck and will use the best on I have on it. However, shipping isn't going to be cheap, so something local would be better. Where are you?

Is this the part you are talking about?
Do you have a manual or auto transmission?

I believe you are looing for a dash "frame" with the opening for the instrument cluster and glove box door.
There is an 82 Bronco with a AC dash frame, (which is different than a non-AC dash Frame) here in CT. Weight wise it is light, but being @50 inches long, that is the shipping killer!

yeah i think it would be considered the dash "frame" or dash panel. either way it is big. goes from door to door...one big piece. if i can't get my hands on one local, i will juts have to dish out the shipping cost! shew...just my luck.

remember, an AC dash is different than a non AC dash.
AC dash has panel vents and a different glove box compartment.

That one doesn't even have instruments or a glove box! Much less A/C.
