I will check glow plug, so pcm (software issue) could also be the issue any way to check that? I had ed do the atlas tune and fix my ficm a year ago for low voltage but ficm volts are good now, can it still be bad?
My dime Im Helping a ford diesel mechanic friend with the work, painful but could have been alot worse at least it didn't damage the cylinder wall or take out the block. Getting her back on the road will be my Christmas present to myself....
What was left of that little bolt was hanging out in one of the exhaust ports on the drivers side cyl. head bent both exhaust valves too. As far as where the little expensive s.o.b came from is a mystery? Lord knows this has not been the first time she has been opened up and cab in the air.

Yeah......sorry to see that! Definitely NOT an inherent 6.0L problem! Drop a bolt in any diesel engine and bad juju results!
On the other hand, your "fix" will likely be a replacement piston, valve/head work on that side and new gaskets/reassembly.
New cylinder on #8 in, new exhaust and intake valves in , lapped valves before install, 1 head gasket, intake manifold gasket, engine seal kit, new orings for the driverside injectors, and acounting for all the hardware under way. Cleaning up the frame and por 15 tomorrow while cab off still.

150 miles so far and she is purring like a kitten no miss or any codes. Still keeping my fingers crossed. Anyone replace there door weather striping, oem with tabs or just aftermarket with adhesive she is no trailer queen?
Glad to hear that you've got it fixed!!! It's a darn shame that it happened but it's somewhat understandable. We found one with a brass wood screw imbedded in the piston one time...I never will figure that one out.
