cab mounts

This maybe a dumb question, but thought I would ask anyways. Can I replace the front cab mounts on my 69 without taking off the cab?

Yessir you can replace the floor pan and front cab mounts while cab is still on the frame. I've done it to my truck. Take front 2 cab mount bolts out jack up the front of the cab just enough to give yourself working room. I used some wood blocks cut to length to stick under the rocker area to hold the cab up. Make sure to measure and re measure multiple times on cab mount placement. so you can get the new ones in same place as the originals were.

i changed my cab mounts and floorboard sections at the same time.. it is best to leave the cab on the frame to get everything aligned back up and tacked together..then you can pull the cab to make it easier to weld them up if you like.. the aftermarket mounts i got were not exactly like original.. but seemed to of worked out good, the floor sections worked well after some trimming to just match the areas i needed to replace.. of you look at my threads you will see mine being replaced

Go with the cheap soft metal ones like LMC and DC NPD for like $29 bucks others and in 3 yrs this is what you'll end up with.. You get what you pay for when it comes to these cheap mounts.

Buy the better ons about 90 bucks each now but their more like the oem ones.

Yea take the hood, inner and outer fenders off and cab bolts and you will be able to lift the front of the cab up. have enough room to do the cab mounts.

Whatever you do be sure to take our advise on cheap mounts. It sucks orich I put Lmc mounts in my truck and acouple months later is when the thread came out about just how ****ty those LMC mounts are. Haven't drove my truck yet so they didn't start to crack...who all carries the good cab mounts now? Haven't looked at any of the sheet metal distributors lately on our trucks.

Dennis Carpenter has them.

It appears the right side mount is the same for 65-79, but the left side changed in 68.

I was looking at some from Carolina classic, or the ones from Dennis carpenters.

So what is entirely involved with this. I really need to get mine done before I start having other problems.
