It seem's that all of us are in support of Bob. Your introduction kinda kicked alot of these well respected members in the Buttocks. This forum and members have given a lot of well heeded advice, so please don't disrespect them with your comment. Maybe try your search on the H.A.M.B, and really get H.A.M.B basted. My 2cents.

Hi everyone, I've got a 1950 Ford F-4 and I am looking to swap the frame from an S-10.
NOW, please no people who are offering no technical advice, and are just offering their worthless opinions about how it's bad to be splitting up an old truck. I just want people who have either completed frame swaps or are in the process.

Since you have displayed that you have no respect for the knowledgeable and helpful members on this board, I will respectfully tell you to sign out, go talk to your grandmother about MANNERS, and then come back and create a new member ID and pretend that you are not the same person.

I'll add my worthless opinion.

Thanks Ross! I appreciate that photo, I was taking my partiality to the S-10 frame due to this website:

It's chock full of information on a build a guy performed using a specific S-10 model.
Personally I would prefer throwing a Ranger underneath the Ford, I love the engine and I love the trans in those trucks, but it seemed "simpler" to go with the S-10 ha ha, simple and frame swap don't mix.
That being said, all I want is essentially the dog-house and cab thrown on top of a modern truck. i do feel my endeavor is very simple compared to many others, in that I am keeping as much as possible form the donor running gear, no swaps or finaggling old parts into a modern frame.

I think this picture of his says it all... look at the wheels in relation to the fenders. At least it won't throw mud on the cab! With the added height of the F-1 bodywork, I suspect this is going to handle like a pig, on that narrow chassis.
Note that he isn't keeping ANY of the S-10 firewall, steering column, heater/A/C, wiring, etc. or even the engine and transmission.

I would think with the narrower wheel base of the S-10 it would move the steering inward also. The Bonus Built is pretty narrow so maybe it wouldn't matter. My neighbor mounted a '36 Ford truck on a S-10 frame and it turned out pretty nice although he said if he had to do it all over he would never used the S-10 chassis, just too many hurtles to overcome.

I bought a complete 52 F-2 rolling chassis from a guy once that had moved his cab and dog house to a complete S-10 chassis. He used a 53-56 F-100 bed with the thing to have the wheelbase work out. The 53-56 has a 118" wheelbase vs 114" for an F-1. He also had real wide wheels and tires which the above project will probably end up with as well. Stu
