Sucks you have your coin in it but I wouldn't run it

Nothing personal against BD they just don't agree with our trucks trans and tend to eat them up quick

Fully agree with Benny. But to answer your question, no.

I have an Edge CS programmer & run it in "tow mode" (60 HP Tune) all of the time & to answer your question.....YES

I called Edge on this very issue (I pull a 31' 5th-Wheel) just to make sure, the "Tow" Mode in your Truck changes Shift strategies slightly & activates your Engine-Braking while stopping.

At least in Edge's case the "tow tune" is nothing more than adding the most HP they felt is safe to Tow heavy loads.
Ive been running my truck this way for nearly 3 years now w/no issues whatsoever

Since BD was just bought by SCT...I'm sure they will clean things up a lot...I'd even consider calling SCT and asking them about it.

My livewire gives me the option of turning on the "Jake Brake" in any of the custom tunes.

FYI...I really like my Livewire...

Switching settings on the fly isn't a problem. It's how it's done.
