Drove a '15 today
Well a local dealer finally got a 2015 powerstroke in, so I stopped by to take a drive. The salesman I dealt with did not know a thing about the differnce between a '14 and '15 till I informed him about the changes made. So I figured I'd give you guys my thoughts. I'm currently drive a 2010 powerstroke but My old truck was a "11 F350 6.7 crew cab short bed with 3.55 gears, The '15 was a F350 6.7 crew cab long bed with 3.55 gears and snow plow package.
The truck had 10 miles on it when I got in and the sound of the motor and the turbo was comparable to that of my '11 when I got it. The engine bay definitely seams a bit more crowded then my other truck. When first getting on it there was a bit more lag with the new turbo then the old one but it not much and doesn't take long before its pulling like a train. You could tell it had a few extra hp under the hood, Id say comparable to a H&S mild tune.
My biggest reason for test driving was for the exhaust brake, I had mix feelings on it. Going down a run of the mill hill for western pa it did take the truck from 35 to 15 and held it there till the bottom without using the tow/haul button or brakes. At 55 or so it didn't seam to work as well as my cousin 07 dodge but you could feel it. I wish I would have gotten to play with it alittle more, I heard it has three modes off, on, on only when brakes are applied but when I pressed the button multiple times it seams like it only had on or off.
Another thing I noticed was the transmission seamed smoother then my '11. It seamed like it would shift hard and clunk into gear especially when coming out of park on a hill, this one didn't do that. Overall if I still had my '11 I'd just keep it as there isn't enough of a difference for me to have traded. I'm going to think about it over the weekend and decide wether to order a '15 or go with a '14. Take this all with a grain of salt as this is only one mans opinion.

I know I wish I could have hooked the gooseneck up to it with about 12 round bales to see how it pulled compared to the old setup. The motor and turbo doesn't worry me, I just don't want it to pull a trailer like my 2010 does. there isn't a lot to choose from in the color I want in a '14 so price wise it would be the same ether way I go

I have been on the fence for some time. Currently drive a 2005 6.0 that I love but the old girl is getting up there in age. So I have been trying to decide between a 2014 with great incentives or the new 2015 with more power. Last week I drove a 2014, CC short bed 3.55 gears. It was a nice truck but seemed to be holding back. I felt my 6.0 had more pickup than it. <O</O
Forward to this week, my dealership finally got in a 2015. Same configuration CC short bed 3.55 gears and I was impressed. It felt like they added 200hp compared to the 2014. Maybe I am just excited about the 2015 but it convinced me to order one today. The only problem I see with the 2015 is I have to wait 6 to 8 weeks…. This is going to hurt.<O</O

I've learned the hard way....get what you want. If you don't, you'll be back looking.
My problem is I want a Ram 2500, GM 2500, and an F-250 to drive just so I can compare them all!
That being said, everything I've read so far tells me the evolution of the 6.7 is just that...not a revolution (which is what I predicted and why I went with the 14).

I can't stand the Ram interiors, even on their decked out versions. The new GMC is quite nice, but since they made the truck and then remembered they needed the urea tank (which hangs low to the ground), it's a negative for me. I don't off road much, but when I do, that would be a deal breaker. I've read some horror stories about the tank.
The 2015 is more of a revolution from what you can't physically see. New engine internals, turbo (again), fuel system, TQ convertor etc. It's Ford's way of saying they were listening over the years, however; there has been enough change that it could be risky to make a job 1 purchase. I may take that risk.
My son wants me to get the Ruby Red since since he is an Alabama fan. I'm torn.
