Hoping my truck isn't dead....Help Please?

So I'm a self employed contractor, driving a 2005 F150 4x4 5.4L Lariat and was driving from A to B when the truck started to shudder, spit, and fart... acceleration was instantly reduced, and if I gassed it, well, it's horrible... I have the Edge on board computer on the dash and it gave me the following errors on road side. P0011, P0022, and P2198. After a little research online, I see it has to do with the Camshaft timing, or something, I'll admit I'm not a mechanic! I called Ford, and they said those codes are the indication of a dead motor, and I should book my appointment to replace my motor today... Sounds like a money grab to me, anyone have any Ideas what I can do regarding this? Anything would help, don't have the cash to replace it atm... Thank You ALL!

Most likely you need to replace the VCT solenoids. Less that $50 each from Tasca Ford. Less than 15 minutes each to replace them.
