i just got a 96 f150 extend cab and the 3rd door is rusted out at the bootom an I want to swap it with another my question is can I use say a 97 or a 99 model 3rd door

 

You could only use a door from a '97 heavy duty truck which has the same body style, if it comes from a 1/2 ton it would have to be from a '92-'96 truck.

This section of the forum doesn't have a 3rd door. So do you have a 97, or do I just not know what you're talking about. Which if that's the case, Paul didn't notice, or knows something I don't.

96 f150-f350 are the same body, no 3rd door and 97 f150 and f250 light duty are the same and have 3rd door. So 97+ f150 and non superduty f250 (f150 7700 or f250 7700) are interchangeable.

 

Dang, I wish my '95 came with the third door option!
