John I wish I could do that now but first thing is to get it put together so I can get it out of the barn before winter so that The wife can park in there. Plus money is tight right now.

Already plan on doing the 50 cent mod Chad, good call.

I want to get the whole truck undercoated once everything is swapped over so I may wait till then.

Not that I know of, it was pretty cold when I first got the truck from Torr and seemed to start up pretty good. Was thinking about replacing them but might wait.

It's fairly easy to pull the covers back off in house anyway.

Ya I have read that thanks for the info. I am going to wait and if need be pull them after the engine is in.

Just checked and the Valve cover is out for delivery today and the rest of my Riff Raff goodies should be here tomorrow.

FRX and HPX will be installed this weekend along with putting the turbo pedestal back on.

Hey I don't mean to cast any bad spells, but I just replaced my injectors on my 285k mile 7.3 (its a 2001) and up until that point I'd had zero trouble with the UVCH/gaskets. But apparently messing with it did it in. A week later it fried the idm and left me sitting.

At the time I didn't know that was the problem. Everything looked good and ohmed fine. A week later I lost one bank and managed to limp home. I finally listened to the advice and replaced both harnesses and gaskets. All the codes are gone now and I think she's fixed this time. Lucky I didn't hurt the idm this time. Something to think about. Just my experience.

Wish you had post this in the 7.3 earlier... Could have easily helped you with the IDM.

Check the High Pressure oil plugs on the back of the block just below the valve covers. They are prone to leaking. The newer ones have a circled indentation on the head where as the old ones don't and will (not if) leak. Much easier to do with the motor out.
