Stock steels weels OEM color choices?? where there any?
I have been looking around for stock looking trucks with original steel wheels, and started to think about what choices there where back in the fifties.
Where they only available in off white (or what itīs called) or did they came in other colors as well, maybe white, black, red etc
I have seen a bunch of pictures with red steel wheels but I have fallen a bit in love with the off white ones with black Bias. Like the one Bigwin56f100 has on his beauty, but I also saw one that had black wheels and wide whitewalls, that was also nice.
But as I said what where the original stock options on the steel wheels, if any.
Yes F250 and larger had black rims. DSO is Domestic Special Order. For example my F600 rollback had a DSO and my rims were red and so was my FRAME! it was a fire truck and it was ordered that way
53 and 54 F100's had rims that were body color. 55 and 56 F100's rims were Colonial White, same as the grille. Colonial white was used also as the two-tone option. F250 and up had black wheels in all years.
