Looking for a wiper assy for my 1951 F1

Yet another setback, now need a vacuum wiper transmission assembly for my 51 f1 with dual wipers. My luck, getting the cab ready for body work and when I removed the shaft nuts the threads stripped completely off the shafts. Do not need a vacuum motor as I am going to put an electric motor on.
Anyone have a setup for sale?

Got your PM. I have two dual wiper brackets. Just need to locate them for some pictures. Can you re-thread the shaft?

I believe those are to repair the factory Electric wipers?

Dave, are you saying you stripped the ~5/8" nuts that hold the pivot assembly to the cowl?

Yep, the nuts came off fine, but when they came off the threads on the pivot shafts just desinegrated. Didnt strip them, they just turned to dust!
I see replacement pivot shafts for sale new, so at least that is an option.

Iilya let me know a price on a setup shipped to NY, maybe better to replace the shafts, not sure yet.

If the rest of your assembly is good, replacing the pivot shafts would probably be your best solution.

Possibly, but there are enough of these trucks out there that someone may have a good used setup available.

Not to hijack...but I have the same problem with the passenger side pivot shaft on my 1950 F3. The 3/4 nut came off fine, but took most of the threads with it. I've had no luck finding a replacement pivot shaft with good threads.

51-52 and 48-50 dual wiper brackets are different. I have both styles. Just need to dig through the parts boxes to find them.

Thanks PanelMan! I was thinking I'd grind/drill out the rosette weld on the bottom of the shaft and slip on the better pivot and weld it back up (with an insert if needed).

Would you happen to have a complete '51 floor-mounted e-brake lever & perhaps the boot?

Pic in post 10 from the 1948/56 Ford Truck Parts Catalog, available on a C/D for about 22 bucks from hipoparts.com

This catalog does not include body parts for 1948/52. 1944/52 Ford Passenger Car & Truck BODY Parts Catalog will be required. Originals available on ebay/Hemmings and etc.

A 1/2 size bound paper 1944/52 reprint catalog is available from faxonautolit.com for the princely sum of 75 bucks.

Could you put up a picture of the pivot assembly for the vac wipers?

The terminology I'm used to is that the cast pot metal part that sticks thru the cowl is the pivot; the pivot shaft is the steel shaft that the knurl attaches to.

Are the knurls replaceable on the vac wipers? Or are they peened onto the pivot shaft?

Thanks Ilya, it appears the knurls are peened onto the pivot shafts.
