2001 f250 5.4 motor removal

I have a 2001 f250 with the 5.4, I bought it with a seized motor. I have pulled the whole nose off the truck including radiators, coolers, front bumper, engine mounts all wiring harness, hoses, unbolted tranny but I can not separate the engine and tranny. I can not turn the motor to unbolt the torque converter. And once I do break them free or end up pulling tranny as well will the oil pan clear the engine cross member?

I'd assume the torque converter would pull out of the transmission. Sure all the bolts are out of the bell housing?

From what I can see they are. I'm going to put truck back on lift tonight and double check.

The torque converter should pull out with the engine---not the best way to take one out, but it will come. Make sure you don't have one bolt still holding the engine to the trans---it's easy to miss one.

Would it help to remove the intake manifold or at least the throttle body?

+1 I'd pull them both together if I was doing it. If you have the whole front end torn down, it shouldn't really be all that much more difficult.
