08 F350 sled pulling
First time at the sled pulls. This was at a local fair. I was told the sled/truck was 18000lbs. I've never done this before or even been to an event so I had no idea what to do. I was in 4 low and in drive. I should have kept it in first. The truck shifted into second and bogged shortly after. Then it downshifted and started accelerating again but started wheel hopping violently. Lessons learned.
I did pull 220'. With fully aired tires. Ther were about 40 "stock" trucks there and I came in 5th out of all the gas and diesels. I was very pleased with those results.
Sorry for the crappy video. My sister doesn't understand the concept of horizontal recording with a smart phone.

Thanks. This was labor day last year I just forgot to post it. If I go this year I will air down the front tires, raise the hookup point and keep it in first. Hopefully ny next year I will have 4.88 and lockers. Then it will be a totally different animal

Where do they do this at? I'm on the northern end of the state, but I'd be interesting in going this year.

It is at the Goshen fair. Last year is was labor day weekend. I believe this video was taken on august 31. Ill let you know when its happening this year. Its a fun fair. The truck pulls are usually on Saturday and are $20 per run. I did 2 pulls. The second pull I only got 160'. I started in a really chewed up spot and let off when I wheel hopped as I knew I wasn't making a full pass. Didnt feel like breaking anything for a short pass.
