1978 F250 Supercab Restoration

. I did the same thing many years ago to fix the cracked plastic driver's door panel on my '78 F150... fibreglas on the inside to hold it together and re-inforce it... so far, it's still holding... it's a Custom, so I don't have all that other plastic cladding, trim, and vinyl all over the outside of it...
. Did whoever it is find the new owners of the truck he's looking for to buy back?

What truck are you talking about buying back?
thatsrealnice, Yeah that's what'll happen on the top of a sand hill after 35 years!

Haven't been up to much due to the weather. We get snow then it warms up to about 35 degrees and melts to slush then freezes and repeat so I cleared out a stall in the garage and put the 78 inside. I'll be working on mounting the square headlights soon. In the mean time I've been trying to find the nut inserts for the door mirrors. The truck came with the 3 point west coast tow mirrors originally but for some reason they were removed and had the useless little mirrors installed. Last summer I bought a set of west coast mirrors to go back on the truck but I can't find anywhere that sells the mounting hardware, any help with that one?

I tried test fitting the west coast mirrors I have today and found out the guy I bought these from off eBay sent me two right hand ride mirrors instead of a set so now I'm trying to figure out what to do about it. I'm thinking that cutting the brace and welding the correct angle into it if there's no other way.

As many have said, it's a nice looking truck.
If you weren't halfway across the country I'd snap that Tonneau Cover from you.
Been quite some time but you mentioned a parts truck with Rear Defrost Window setup, any idea if that's still available, highly doubt it as you said they were going to scrap it. I would LOVE to have that setup.

You did that hyrdoboost swap on Aarons f100 right? If you can convince him to drive the f100 to MN and I can convince him to make a delivery whenever they come out here next I'll send the cover back with him. I live not far from his wife's home town.

I'm north of Deer River about 45 minutes north west of Grand Rapids. I make trips out to the Fargo area every now and then. About a year and a half ago I ended up in Erhard looking for my dads first pickup and ended up finding it there. That's right in the middle of your neck of the woods. I'll send you a PM about the cover.

Things have been hectic lately and haven't been able to do the HB on his truck yet, hoping to get the Master Cylinder measurements I need off of it this week so I can modify the booster for install. The install is easy enough it could be done in a parking lot, just a matter of getting the unit ready.
If he drove back for a trip I highly doubt he'd be in the Ford for the sake of fuel costs.

That's why I said he would need some convincing. I was about to get ahold of him this coming weekend to see if it had been done. Last I talked to him he was saying he'd do a write up on it. I'd like to do it to both my 78's.

As you've already seen I did a write up in my thread, I will be taking more pictures of the modifications required and of the install this time around.
I do need to get him to do 60-0 stopping distance tests before and after, anxious to see how much of a difference it's going to make with the smaller 1/2 ton calipers.

It's been a while since I posted an update. I spent most of the winter parts collecting but I did get the fuel doors cut out of the old box so those will eventually be welded into the brown box. Other than that I sold my green 78 and moved to Nevada in the end of may and left the yellow 78 in storage in Minnesota. I'm going to just be collecting parts for the next year or two. Before I left I did pull it out of the garage and took a few more parts off the front end and interior. Apparently the mice had made quite a home above the headliner.
