Where to begin 65 f100

im about to pick up on a project my dad started and never finished 10 years ago. it was my first truck and he was fixin it while I was in Iraq I had plans to fix it but thanks to a thieving mom I had no money and had to go straight back to work. so I need some ideas for the gas tank since I don't have one behind the seat any more and also where is a good place to get a new wiring harness. damn rats got mine and I want it to be done right. any ideas or suggestions would be great. oh and does anyone know where I can git the door skins

Welcome to FTE, pipeliner and thanks for your service in Iraq. For starters, you've indicated your truck is a '65 but you posted in the 61-63 unibody section. You might want to repost down in the regular 61-66 section and you get much more traffic on your thread. Also, post up some pics of your truck when you get a chance. Everybody loves to see what you're working with.

As for the gas tank, you can do a search and find some options but the most common is putting the 66-70-ish Mustang gas tank between the rear frame rails. I did that to mine and it works well.

If you're going aftermarket on the wiring harness, it all depends on how much money you wanna spend. EZ wire, Painless and various others make affordable harnesses that can be adapted. I'm no wiring expert but several on here are.

On door skins, I wouldn't bother. I'd just look for a better pair of doors. There should be quite a few around that are more affordable than skins and save you all that labor.

Hope that helps a little....
