Has anyone blacked out the letters on the tailgate? "SUPER DUTY". If so, how did you go about doing it? Thank you.

 

eBay has the coloured lettering, or "recon" sells some as well

 

I have done the black Super Duty lettering on the tail gate and the red Super Duty lettering on the front grill.

I bought the lettering on e-bay and just use a little soapy water to be able to adjust them as I install them. Very easy to do - just be very careful when installing as the letters are fragile and very easy to tear if you pull or push on them too much.

All mine have stayed in place as they should, over 10,000 miles with several sustained high speed 1000 mile interstate trips.

I like the look and think it gives the tailgate a completely different look.

 

How's they do in car washes ?

The ones i bought were from ebay. They were cheap. They send two sets in a package. I kept them thinking i may need to make a repair. But no dice. I figured id just give em away so another SD could benefit.

I had mine on for a few years and never had an issue.
