Power Chip or Not

Power Chip or Not
I see on this forum and others mentions of adding a new chip to improve mileage and horsepower. I have and F350 with the 6.8-V-10 and would like thoughts about installing one of the chips. Do they really make a difference and what about stories I've heard about them messing up you factory computer? Any input appreciated.

Before you chip or program, you need to gut your exhaust including an upgraded "Y" pipe. After that chore, then you should purchase a Transgo Tugger Shift Kit and have the tranny pan dropped for a service and add the Transgo. You have a 4R100 tranny. After that, then consider a Mike's 5 Star programmer for a 2 V 6.8. Talk to Mike about what you want in the way of performance, economy or towing and he will fix you up.
