flex pipe question

flex pipe question
On the Super Duty forum, I was told to come here and see if "bullitt390" could help me. Anyway, I have a busted "flex-pipe" and the ford dealer here says they will have to take the cab off to replace it. There were a few things added to it, but I don't want to spend $1,800.00.
I know that there are some Y pipe options from the aftermarket folks, but what is the best fix? I don't understand the "Flex" part. Isn't there a better fix?
Thanks in advance.

Hello Big315,
The Y-Pipe is removed from the top by first removing the Turbo. The cab definitely does not need to be removed. Not sure what book time is, but 3 hours is a fair time for a simple R&R.
Here is a pic of a repaired Y-Pipe:
The flex joints are upgraded to Vibrant triple layer flex joints. Much higher quality than the stock units.
PM me for more info if you're interested in having your Y-Pipe repaired.
